This policy covers the Ramille app, the purchase of a license and the ramille.app website. The data controller is Ramille’s publisher: Ramah GUEDEGBE, sole trader (entrepreneur individuel) registered in France under SIREN 523 501 765, 235 rue Saint-Honoré, 75001 Paris, France, who publishes software under the GLabs325 brand (glabs325.com). Contact: ramille@glabs325.com.
1. In short
Ramille is a Git client that runs on your Mac. It reads and changes the repositories you open, with the Git installed on your Mac.
Ramille has no account and no server run by the publisher. Your repositories do not go through any Ramille server. The app contains no analytics, no telemetry and no crash reports sent automatically. This website sets no cookies and measures its audience in aggregate, without cookies (section 9).
2. Data stored on your Mac
- Your Git host account tokens and AI API keys are kept in the macOS Keychain, never in a plain file.
- Non-secret account details (host, username, servers you added), your settings and your favorite and recent repositories are kept in the app’s files, in your Library folder.
- Before saving a conflict resolution, Ramille keeps a copy of the original files on your Mac.
- Ramille keeps a local usage log (section 7).
For HTTPS remotes, Ramille uses the Git credential helpers already set up on your Mac. It does not change your Git configuration.
3. Your Git hosts
Ramille talks directly to the services you use:
- the servers of your remotes, through Git over SSH or HTTPS, when you fetch, pull or push, and in the background to check the remote (every 5 minutes by default, adjustable or off);
- the APIs of the hosts you connect (GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Bitbucket, and your company servers), to show, create, comment on or merge pull requests. The pull request list on the home screen refreshes every 10 minutes while the home screen is shown;
- Microsoft Entra, if you choose that sign-in for Azure DevOps;
- GitLab’s public profile pictures, to show avatars.
These services receive what the operation requires (your token, the repository concerned, your comments) and process it under their own terms, with the account you opened with them.
4. AI features (optional)
Ramille can suggest a commit message or a pull request description. These features are used only if you set them up and start them: nothing is sent without a saved API key and without your click on “Send” after a preview of what will be sent.
The request can contain the staged diff (at most 60,000 characters for a remote provider), the names of changed files, summaries of recent commits, the branch name and your instructions. For files that may contain secrets, only the name is sent.
Possible providers: Anthropic, OpenAI or Google Gemini, with your own key, under their terms; or a local model with Ollama or LM Studio, in which case the text does not leave your Mac. Your account with the provider and its key are your responsibility.
5. License and purchase
Polar (polar.sh) sells Ramille licenses as merchant of record. It collects what is needed for payment, invoicing and taxes (for example your name, email address, billing country and payment method) and processes it under its own privacy policy (polar.sh/legal). We never receive your card details. Polar passes on what we need for your order, such as your email address, country and order details, which we use for support, refunds and our accounting obligations.
To activate, check or deactivate a license, the app contacts Polar’s license key API with your license key and an activation identifier for this Mac. No server run by the publisher is involved. The trial is counted on your Mac.
6. Updates
Ramille uses Sparkle, an open source update tool. Once a day (you can turn this off in Settings › Updates) and whenever you check for updates, the app downloads a static update file hosted on GitHub. The request contains no account, no license key and no repository data. GitHub receives what any download reveals: your IP address and Sparkle’s user agent, which includes the app version.
An update is downloaded and installed only after your click, then checked (archive signature and Apple Developer ID signature) before it replaces the app.
7. Usage log and reports
Ramille keeps a technical log on your Mac: commands run, screens shown, Git actions with their duration and result, errors. It never contains the content of your files, diffs, commit messages, Git arguments or credentials. Tokens and email addresses are masked, and paths in your home folder are shortened to ~/…. Its size is capped: the oldest entries are removed. You can turn it off, open it or clear it in Settings › Updates.
The log is never sent automatically. If you choose “Send a report…”, Ramille prepares a draft in your mail app with the report attached: you read it and send it yourself.
8. Emails to support
If you write to us, with or without a report, we receive your message, your email address and any attachments. We use them only to answer you and delete them once the request is closed, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
9. This website
Hosting
ramille.app is a static site hosted by Cloudflare. To serve pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, your browser’s user agent, the requested address and the time of the request, under its own privacy policy (cloudflare.com/privacypolicy). We do not use these logs to profile visitors.
Audience measurement without cookies
To know which pages are read, the site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and does not fingerprint your device. We only see aggregate statistics (page views, referring site, browser and device type, country, load times), never an individual visitor. The site uses no advertising tools.
Your language choice, if you make one, is kept in your browser’s local storage, on your device only.
“Get notified at launch” sign-up
If you sign up, we collect your email address, the page language, a code identifying the form used and the version of the consent text you accepted.
Your address is used only to send you one email, when Ramille launches. The legal basis is your consent. We send nothing else and delete the address once that email is sent. Until then, you can withdraw your consent and have the address deleted at any time by writing to ramille@glabs325.com.
The form is delivered by Web3Forms (web3forms.com), our processor: it receives the form and forwards it to us by email.
Cloudflare, Web3Forms, Polar and GitHub may process data outside the European Union, with the safeguards described in their own policies.
10. Your rights
Almost all of Ramille’s data is on your Mac. You can disconnect an account in Settings › Accounts (its token is removed from the Keychain), clear the log, or remove all local data by uninstalling the app and deleting its files in your Library folder. An authorization given to an app on a host is revoked on that host.
The data we receive directly is limited to launch sign-ups, order details passed on by Polar and messages sent to support. Under the GDPR, you can ask to access, correct or delete this data, object to its use or withdraw your consent by writing to ramille@glabs325.com. You can also complain to the CNIL (cnil.fr) or to the authority in your country.
11. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with its date.
